A personal trainer provides fitness knowledge, evaluates progress, and motivates clients to continue with a workout program. They may also assist their clients in setting realistic goals, and provide guidance and support to help them achieve those goals. Trainers work with clients of all ages and fitness levels, including pregnant women receiving prenatal training, children and adults trying to lose weight, and people wanting to take their strength and endurance to the next level.

One of the biggest obstacles to reaching your exercise goals is staying motivated. A PT can be the external source of motivation you need to hit the gym, especially when you’re feeling lazy or uninspired. Trainers can keep you accountable by checking in with you throughout the week to see if you’ve done your workout, and they’re always on hand to give you some encouragement when you need it.

Personal trainers are experienced in a range of different workout techniques, so they can offer new moves to mix up your routine and keep things interesting. They also have a vast amount of knowledge about how certain exercises can be modified to better suit your body type and injury history, resulting in safer and more effective workouts for you.

The fitness industry requires extensive education and experience to become certified as a personal trainer. Most certification programs can be completed in a matter of months, and include courses in exercise science, anatomy and physiology, and program design. Most trainers are also required to have some practical experience through internships and on-the-job training. Personlig träning
